Bo LKV new office in Kruununhaka, Helsinki
In Helsinki’s Kruunuhaka, the city’s oldest neighborhood, a traditional brick & mortar restaurant was given a complete facelift. The fully renovated offices of Bo LKV Realtors offer a stylish, inviting interior for homeowners and the estate agents alike.
Stemming from late 1800s, the apartment building began with a Renaissance Revival façade, but was remodeled in Art Nouveau style in the early 1900s. Fall 2021, a unique street level commercial space was made available in the corner of the building. Bo LKV’s professionals had to take but one look to say “yes”. The challenges of converting a former restaurant to modern office space didn’t dismay them in the least.
”It was clear from day one. The historic neighborhood and it’s artful and colorful architecture would be my leading light for the interior design”, explains Interior Architect Jenni Leikas, the project’s principal designer.
Furniture and materials were chosen to respect the spirit of the building
The office’s impressive atmosphere takes over the moment you step through the door. Your eyes take in details from the harmonious herringbone wood flooring, to the statuesque lounge area, to the impressive, black-trimmed glass elements. “The lounge and the meeting space are separated by revolving doors, They give the whole space additional flexibility”, Jenni continues.
The glass elements and the beautiful color variations of the walls invite you to move from one area to the next. “The practical demands of contemporary, flexible office work have been met while carefully respecting the spirit of the building itself. For the Lounge, I chose Adea’s Plateau coffee table in White Carrara marble and the Como sofa group upholstered in the stylish Orsetto fabric,” Jenni concludes.
